residents and guests enjoy time together in, the library, the solarium, the
chapel or any number of other comfortable common areas located throughout the
building. Founded in 1962, the original Lutheran Home - Hickory was replaced
with a state-of-the art building in 2000 and now includes two specialized care
areas serving the unique needs of people with Alzheimer's disease or similar
impairments.
When you visit, be sure to stop by the "Dale Jarret
Brickyard," a shaded brick patio and favorite gathering spot named after
Hickory native and NASCAR legend Dale Jarret who supported fundraising efforts
there. Or rest a moment in the charming gazebo, while children and
grandchildren swing and slide through the playground.

condition? At Lutheran Home - Hickory, comfortable private rooms offering
Internet access, cable TV, telephone, and private bath are located near the
therapy department to meet your short-term rehabilitation needs.
Speech, physical, and occupational therapy are offered on-site seven
days a week. Therapists work closely with your physician developing programs to
improve your strength, balance and coordination, help with issues related to
memory, comprehension, or hearing loss, and assist with adaptive techniques and
devices.
Whether its therapists, housekeepers, laundry staff or nursing
assistants, everyone at Lutheran Home - Hickory focuses on your recovery and
